Norris hit on arm, Beltre keeps hitting the Orioles (O's win 6-5)

ARLINGTON, Texas - Orioles starter Bud Norris stayed in tonight's game after taking a shot off his right forearm from Rangers first baseman Mitch Moreland in the bottom of the fifth inning. The next batter, Adrian Beltre, hit his second home run of the night and his third of the series to tie the game 5-5. Norris threw three pitches to test the arm before sending head athletic trainer Richie Bancells and manager Buck Showalter back to the dugout. Beltre dug in and drove a 93 mph fastball an estimated 388 feet to the opposite field. Beltre drilled a two-run shot in the first inning, on an 86 mph slider, and has driven in all five Texas runs. Beltre has nine home runs and 18 RBIs in his last 10 games against the Orioles. He has 26 career multi-homer games, the most recent before tonight coming July 9, 2013 at Camden Yards. He surrendered five against the Tigers over five innings in his first start of the season on April 5. Norris had served up one home run over his last three starts before tonight. Nick Markakis singled off Rangers reliever Aaron Poreda with two outs to score Caleb Joseph and give the Orioles a 6-5 lead. Zach Britton registered his fifth save in six opportunities after McFarland and Darren O'Day combined for three scoreless innings. Britton, who gave up two singles in the ninth, has allowed three earned runs in 30 2/3 innings. Nelson Cruz reached base five times on three singles and two errors. The Orioles have scored 27 runs in the last four games and 23 in the last three. They have 50 hits in the last four games. The Orioles are 12-8 in one-run games and 26-2 when leading after eight innings.
