The Nationals look to start the season 2-0 as they wrap up a series in Atlanta against the Braves.
Right-hander Stephen Strasburg has gone just 3-3 with a 4.79 ERA in nine career starts at Turner Field. His 19 walks there are the most he has surrendered in any visiting ballpark. But last season, Strasburg finished strong, going 6-2 with a 1.90 ERA in his final 10 starts of the season. He battled injury in the first half, going just 5-5 with a 5.16 ERA in 13 starts.
Right-hander Bud Norris split last season between the Orioles and the Padres. He has a career 4.44 ERA in 196 games (166 starts) over seven seasons. He has historically started campaigns slowly, going 8-11 with a 5.52 ERA in 28 career starts in March or April. He is 2-1 with a 5.33 ERA in seven games (four starts) lifetime against the Nationals.
The Nationals went 4-5 at Atlanta last season and 10-0 at home against the Braves. Following tonight's game, the Nationals do not return to Atlanta again until August 18. The Nationals next away game is April 15 at Philadelphia.
Ninety-eight is the magic number right now for slugger Bryce Harper. He has 98 doubles and 98 homers in his career after hitting a solo homer in the first inning Monday in the Nationals' 4-3 10-inning victory.
Wilson Ramos and Daniel Murphy each had a pair of hits in the 2016 lid-lifter. Ramos went 2-for-5, while Murphy finished 2-for-3 with a homer, a run, two walks and two RBIs. Murphy had a career-high 14 homers last season on his way to the NLCS Most Valuable Player honor.
Matt den Dekker is back with Ben Revere going to the 15-day disabled list with a right oblique strain.
