New Orioles lineup vs. Blue Jays

The Orioles have made multiple changes to tonight's lineup in Toronto.

The Blue Jays scratched their starting pitcher.

Write down everything in pencil.

In an apparent response to the hosts replacing left-hander Anthony Kay with left-hander Thomas Pannone, if that makes sense, the Orioles have removed shortstop Richie Martin, third baseman Hanser Alberto and right fielder Anthony Santander from their lineup with less than two hours remaining before first pitch.

Jonathan Villar moves from second base to shortstop and from fifth to first in the order. Rio Ruiz is playing third base and Stevie Wilkerson moves from left field to second.

Kay was scratched due to back pain, per reports out of Toronto.

Pannone has made only six starts among 35 appearances, the last one on Aug. 8. He threw a scoreless inning last night on 20 pitches and worked the first six innings on Aug. 3 at Camden Yards.

The Jays have made a habit of changing their starter on the day of a game. The Orioles just fired off three counterpunches.
