O's can't get the clutch hit, lose at Cleveland

It can't get much more frustrating for the Orioles. A pitcher with an ERA of 13.11 over his last three starts beat them. So did a team with an 11-game losing streak. The O's offense missed out on scoring chances throughout the night as Cleveland beat the Orioles 4-2 Friday night to snap their long losing streak.

The O's are 0-4 on this road trip and their own season-worst losing streak reaches eight games. The O's scored on Micheal Aubrey's RBI single in the 2nd and a Nick Markakis solo homer in the 6th. Cleveland got three of its runs in the 5th vs. David Hernandez. The 3rd run scored on a Melvin Mora throwing error. Lou Marson drew a bases-loaded walk in the 8th vs. Matt Albers for a 4-2 Tribe lead. The O's went 1 for 9 on the night with runners in scoring position. They left ten men on base. Cesar Izturis came up three times with men in scoring positon. He did not get a hit, stranding six runners. His infield single in the 5th came with no one on base. Winning pitcher Fausto Carmona gave up two runs and nine hits over six innings. He is now 4-12. David Hernandez took the loss, falling to 4-9, 5.20.
