O's game blog: Bud Norris on the mound in Camden Yards opener

The Orioles will play their 62nd home opener today since they arrived in Baltimore in 1954. They are 41-20 all-time, have won four in a row and are 17-6 in home openers since the first year at Camden Yards in 1992.

The O's host Toronto at 3:05 p.m. They went 11-8 against the Blue Jays last season, going 6-4 here and 5-4 on the road.

Norris has both good career numbers against Toronto and at Oriole Park.

Last season, he went 4-0 with a 1.78 ERA versus the Jays and he is 4-0 with a 2.36 ERA in six career starts against them.

In 13 home starts last season, he went 8-2 with a 2.44 ERA, allowing just five homers over 81 innings. He is 10-3 with a 3.58 ERA in 18 career starts at Camden Yards.

Buerhle will be making his 23rd career start versus the Orioles this afternoon. He is 8-10 with a 3.57 ERA against Baltimore.

While he had an ERA of 2.64 before the All-Star break in 2014, he went 3-4 with a 4.64 ERA and .318 batting average against after the break.

While the O's begin the year with 19 straight division games, the Blue Jays open the season with 10 consecutive games and 19 of their first 22 contests against the American League East. Last season, Toronto posted a record of 39-37 (19-18 at home and 20-19 on the road) versus the East.

Toronto took two of three at New York against the Yankees to start a season 2-1 for the first time since 2012. It was just their third series win in their last 14 trips to New York and the Blue Jays are only 7-30 at Yankee Stadium since May 24, 2011.

Toronto was the opponent when the Orioles clinched their ninth AL East championship last Sept. 16 at Camden Yards. It was the first time the O's clinched the East by winning in Baltimore since 1969.
