O's game blog: It's Tillman against Hutchison at Camden Yards

After exchanging blowout wins, the Orioles and Toronto Blue Jays play the third and deciding game of their three-game series here this afternoon.

Toronto spoiled the O's home opener with a 12-5 win Friday, but the Orioles won 7-1 last night in front of 38,897 at the Yard behind Ubaldo Jimenez and a Jonathan Schoop grand slam.

Right-handers Chris Tillman (13-6, 3.34 ERA last season) and Drew Hutchison (11-13, 4.48 ERA) will make their second starts of 2015 today. Both started on opening day.

The Orioles are 12-1 in Chris Tillman's last 13 regular-season starts.

Dating back to last season, Tillman is now 9-4 with a 2.33 ERA over his last 22 regular season starts, allowing three earned runs or less 21 times with 17 quality starts. Very ace-like from Tillman.

In four starts last year against Toronto, he went 1-3 with a 4.73 ERA. In 14 career starts versus the Blue Jays, he is 4-6 with a 4.12 ERA.

The 24-year-old Hutchison got the win Monday in New York against the Yankees. He went six innings, allowing three hits and one run, throwing 93 pitches. Left-handed batters went 2-for-20 against and right-handed hitters went 1-for-1.

Hutchison has good numbers against the Orioles. In 2014, he went 3-1 with a 2.54 ERA in six starts. Over 39 innings, he gave up seven walks with 44 strikeouts and a .188 average against. He is 4-1 with a 2.29 ERA over eight career starts against Baltimore.

Minor league notes: Single-A Delmarva beat Greensboro 3-1 last night on a combined one-hitter. Last year's third-round pick, lefty Brian Gonzalez gave up the hit in a five-inning outing. Then Garrett Cortright and Derrick Bleeker went two innings each. Bleeker struck out five. The Shorebirds' 18-year-old third baseman, Jomar Reyes, went 3-for-4 with a triple and is batting .417 through three games.

After not playing a 14-inning game all of last season, Double-A Bowie has played two in the first three games. The Baysox got their first win last night - 7-6 at Richmond. They pushed across a run in the 14th against Richmond infielder Rando Moreno, who entered the game to pitch. Baysox starter Parker Bridwell allowed three runs in the first, but then settled in. He went five innings with nine strikeouts and retired the final 12 batters he faced.

The two players the O's got in the trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers, pitcher Ben Rowen and catcher Chris O'Brien have been officially added to Bowie's roster. Left-handed pitcher Cesar Cabral is moving from Bowie to Triple-A Norfolk.

O's outfielder David Lough is playing at Single-A Frederick today. He's batting leadoff and playing in left field in the Keys' 2 p.m. game at home against Winston-Salem.
