Orioles 1970 World Series Anniversary Auction Continues Until July 5

The auction of items worn by current and former Orioles and current Washington Nationals from the Orioles 1970 40th Anniversary Celebration this past Saturday continues at www.orioles.com through Monday, July 5 at 6:00 p.m. All members of the Orioles and Nationals have autographed their game-worn jerseys and hats from Saturday's game, and each Orioles player also has his signed game-worn helmet up for bid. The auction also includes the jerseys worn by the members of the 1970 World Series championship team who participated in the anniversary event on Saturday. Top bids thus far on 1970 team member jerseys include Hall of Famers JIM PALMER and BROOKS ROBINSON at $400 each, Boog Powell and Merv Rettenmund jerseys for $325 each and Hall of Famers Frank Robinson and Earl Weaver at $300 each. Current Orioles and Nationals players' game-worn, authenticated jerseys, hats and batting helmets are also available. The current bid for the jersey worn by Nationals RHP Stephen Strasburg is the highest of all the auction items at $1,637. Strasburg's hat is currently $450. Other popular items up for bid include the jerseys worn by Adam Jones ($300), Matt Wieters ($325), Nick Markakis ($375), Nationals 3B Ryan Zimmerman ($411), Nationals 1B Adam Dunn ($425) and Nationals RHP Livan Hernandez($441). The batting helmets worn by Markakis and Wieters are currently at $375. Starting bids for game-worn hats are $50, batting helmets are $100 and jerseys are $150.
