Orioles clinging to 5-3 lead (O's win)

CHICAGO - Pedro Strop allowed a run in the bottom of the eighth on a leadoff walk to Paul Konerko, Alex Rios' double and Alexei Ramirez's ground ball. Strop struck out Dayan Viciedo and Tyler Flowers, and the Orioles are taking a 5-3 lead into the ninth. Strop's fastball reached 99 mph. Jim Johnson is getting ready in the bullpen. He's converted 13 straight save opportunities. And no, I'm not trying to jinx him. Nick Johnson drove in his first run today with a grounder, but he's 0-for-20 this season. Meanwhile, a fan ran onto the field in the seventh inning, which isn't newsworthy except it might have been the youngest fan in major league history to delay a game. We're estimating that he was 6 or 7 years old. I doubt that he was drunk. Maybe it was a dare. Viciedo eventually scooped him up and handed him to a security guard, who carried him into the stands. The kid wasn't arrested, but he might have been put on timeout. I tried to post the video, but it's already been removed. Update: No jink for Johnson, but it was intense. Johnson got a ground ball and strikeout before walking A.J. Pierzynski, giving up a single to Adam Dunn and hitting Paul Konerko. Alex Rios struck out looking, and the Orioles took three of four games at U.S. Cellular Field. Johnson needed 31 pitches to record his sixth save of the year. The Orioles are 5-2 on this road trip, which concludes in Anaheim.
