Orioles host "Go Green" Night Monday, March 17, auction game-worn green caps for charity

The Orioles will host "Go Green" Night, presented by Waste Pro, for their St. Patrick's Night game Monday, March 17 at 7:05 p.m. against the Minnesota Twins. The Orioles will wear black and green cartoon bird caps for the game, after which the caps will be autographed and auctioned online at www.orioles.com/spring, to benefit the animal hospitals at Mote Marine Laboratory. The Sarasota-based hospitals treat sick and injured dolphins, small whales and sea turtles with the goal of returning them to the wild. Fans can learn more about Mote's animal hospitals at the OriolesREACH community booth on the main concourse during the game. The Orioles will also wear the black and green cartoon bird caps for Monday's 1:05 p.m. game vs. the Phillies in Clearwater. Fans may also bid online for these caps at www.orioles.com/spring from 1:05 p.m. on Monday, March 17 through Monday, March 24 at 11:59 p.m. Ed Smith Stadium uses environmentally-friendly practices including recycling, reclaimed water for toilets and irrigation, solar panels and roofing materials that conserve energy, and preferred parking for car pooling and fuel-efficient vehicles. The Orioles also are a partner in Sarasota County's "Green Business Partnership" program. Additional information on the Orioles' commitment to the environment at Ed Smith Stadium can be found at www.orioles.com/sarasota.
