Orioles lineup vs. Blue Jays (updated)

The Orioles will try to win their first game at Rogers Centre in 2018 as they continue their road trip in Toronto.

The Blue Jays swept a four-game series in June, winning twice in 10 innings, and a three-game series in July after the All-Star break. They won again in the 10th inning in the opener.

Andrew Cashner is 0-1 in three starts against the Jays this season, but he's allowed only four runs in 18 2/3 innings for a 1.93 ERA. All four runs came in two starts in Toronto over 11 2/3 innings.

Tonight marks Cashner's sixth career start against the Blue Jays. He's 1-1 with a 2.27 ERA and 1.232 WHIP in 31 2/3 innings.

Randal Grichuk is 3-for-11 with a double and two home runs against Cashner. Kevin Piillar is 4-for-10 and Kendrys Morales is 4-for-7 with a home run.

Justin Smoak is 1-for-13 with a home run.

Right-hander Marco Estrada is 8-2 with a 3.46 ERA and 1.143 WHIP in 17 career games (15 starts) against the Orioles, spanning 91 innings. He's struck out 95 batters. In his two starts this season, he's allowed six runs and struck out 14 batters in 10 innings.

Estrada has the reverse splits working for him again. Left-handers are hitting .227/.276/.443 against him and right-handers are hitting .278/.328/.532.

Jones is batting in the cleanup spot.

Tim Beckham is 2-for-17 (.118) with eight strikeouts against Estrada. Chris Davis is 6-for-34 (.176) with three home runs and 12 strikeouts.

Davis is the designated hitter tonight with Trey Mancini at first base and Craig Gentry in left field.

Mark Trumbo is expected to go on the disabled list with inflammation in his right knee and outfielder John Andreoli will be recalled from Triple-A Norfolk.

Andreoli would be the 52nd player used by the Orioles this season. He isn't in tonight's lineup.

Andreoli made his major league debut with the Mariners this summer and had one hit in five at-bats during three stints from May 23-28, July 7-9 and July 20.

Double-A Bowie left-hander Keegan Akin has been named Eastern League Pitcher of the Week after going 2-0 with a 1.46 ERA in two starts. He struck out 13 batters in 12 1/3 innings.

Akin is 14-6 with a league-leading 2.77 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in 23 starts over 130 innings. He's struck out 135 batters and opponents are batting .209.
