Orioles make four cuts, Reimold scratched from lineup

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - The Orioles have optioned pitcher Steve Johnson and outfielder Henry Urrutia to Triple-A Norfolk and reassigned outfielder Quintin Berry and infielder Alexi Casilla to minor league camp. johnson-s-front-sidebar.jpgWith this move, the Orioles now have 36 players at major league spring training, including four non-roster invitees. Casilla signed a minor league deal on Jan. 10 and appeared to be the leading candidate to serve in a utility role, but hamstring and knee injuries limited his availability. Also, Nolan Reimold has been scratched from tonight's lineup. He was supposed to bat leadoff and serve as the designated hitter. Jonathan Schoop moves up from ninth to leadoff, and Chris Marrero will serve as the designated hitter. Marrero also made the trip to Fort Myers today. He hadn't played in a game all spring because of a strained oblique. Reimold is 10-for-38 in Grapefruit League games, with a home run and five RBIs. He's also been collecting at-bats at the minor league complex at Twin Lakes Park. Reimold hasn't been playing much outfield lately and could be experiencing some neck stiffness or other restrictions. We'll find out soon whether he could be headed to the disabled list, which could directly impact Steve Pearce and Delmon Young as they compete for roster spots. Here's the new lineup: Jonathan Schoop 3B J.J. Hardy SS Adam Jones CF Nelson Cruz RF Matt Wieters C Delmon Young LF Steve Pearce 1B Steve Lombardozzi 2B Chris Marrero DH Chris Tillman RHP
