Pondering some Orioles and Yankees stats

Checking in on a few Orioles and Yankees stats and notes as they begin a three-game series tonight at Camden Yards. * CC Sabathia is 14-2 with an ERA of 2.86 in 20 career starts versus the Orioles. He went 5-1, 3.56 ERA against Baltimore last year. He is 8-1 with an ERA of 2.97 in 10 career Camden Yards starts, with his only loss coming in the 2009 season opener. The Yankees are 16-4 in his 20 career starts against the Orioles. * The Birds' third and fourth hitters, Derrek Lee and Vladimir Guerrero are a combined 5-for-28 for an average of .179 with just one extra-base hit when batting with runners in scoring position. Lee is 0-for-12 and Vlad is 5-for-16. * Orioles starters posted four straight quality starts against the Twins, pitching to an ERA of 2.81 in that series. The O's have 11 quality starts on the year. The current streak of four in a row ties for the best stretch of the season, set when they opened the year with four in a row. * Despite just one such hit last night, O's batters are a combined 9-for-21 (.429) with runners in scoring position over the past three games. * Matt Wieters is batting .438 at 7-for-16 during his five-game batting streak.
