The O's had nine hits today and have just one game of ten or more hits in the last eight games. They have homered just twice in the last seven contests. The O's hitters went 1 for 7 today, for the second straight game, when batting with runners in scoring position. The Orioles are hitting just .163 (8 for 49) with RISP over the last five games. The O's have scored three runs or less in five straight games, seven of the last eight and 14 times in 26 games in the second-half. They are 1-13 in those games.

Double up - Brian Roberts connected for his AL-leading 40th double in the third inning. It's the third year in a row and 5th time in six seasons, he has produced 40 or more doubles. Roberts is 5 for 12 over his last three games and is batting .333 over his last 14 games. Roberts has hit 12 doubles in his last 25 games. Nick Markakis had three hits and has reached base in 33 consecutive games, the longest current streak in the Majors. It's one game off his career high. Ichiro and Ryan Zimmerman each reached base in 43 consecutive games earlier in the year. Markakis is 10 for 25 during a six-game hitting streak and is batting .346-5-21 with nine doubles since the All-Star break. The Orioles are now 11-26 in series finale games and 11-23 in day games. Matt Wieters went 2 for 3 with a walk after going 1 for 12 his last three contests. Over his last 18 games, Wieters is batting .323 (21 for 65). Huff homers - Aubrey Huff hit a two-run homer in the 6th. It was his 13th of the year and traveled 382 feet to left center. Huff has at least one RBI in four of his last six games and in nine of the last 14 contests. The Orioles were looking for their first series win since the All-Star break and fall to 7-19 since the break. The O's fall to 1-5 on the season vs. Oakland and have scored just 12 runs in six games vs. A's pitching this year. Oakland has won seven of its last ten games and 10 of 16.
