Reporting for duty (updated)

SARASOTA, Fla. - Pitchers and catchers will report to camp today, and the media has been granted clubhouse access from 10 a.m.-10:30 a.m. In the past, we've been allowed to stake out the clubhouse all morning and afternoon, so I'm not sure why a change has been implemented. New regime, new rules? I've already experienced my weird moment of the day. I got into my car, turned on the stereo and heard "Turning Japanese" by The Vapors. Now I just need to find a song about the Mandarin Chinese. Alfredo Simon is here. He arrived at camp with a pitcher I couldn't identify. And Matt Wieters just walked through the door. Zach Britton is scheduled to throw today at 10:45 a.m. Since I'm being booted out of the clubhouse 15 minutes earlier, the timing actually works in my favor. Britton's had one day to rest his left shoulder after playing catch on Thursday, and the Orioles will monitor how it responds. The big test will come when he throws on consecutive days. Update: Britton said he'll throw today, and again on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, with Wednesday being his day to rest. Britton plans on throwing off a mound in two weeks. He tried it once over the winter, but stopped because of the discomfort in his shoulder.
