Start spreading the news: Orioles have one game left in New York

NEW YORK - We'll find out this morning whether Bud Norris is able to make his start against the Yankees or if manager Buck Showalter must dig through his bullpen to piece together at least nine innings.

Norris has registered quality starts in his last two outings, surrendering six runs over 13 2/3 innings. However, he began yesterday tied with the Blue Jays' Drew Hutchison for most earned runs allowed in the American League with 26.

Before you judge too harshly, the Indians' Corey Kluber - last year's AL Cy Young Award winner - is 0-5 with a 5.04 ERA in seven starts and has allowed 25 earned runs.

Norris is 4-0 with a 3.21 ERA in five career starts against the Yankees and 2-0 with a 3.27 ERA in two starts in the Bronx. He allowed three runs in five innings on April 15 at Camden Yards, walking two batters and striking out seven.

Carlos Beltran is 10-for-29 (.345) with six doubles against Norris. Chase Headley is 7-for-19 (.368) with two home runs. Stephen Drew is 7-for-21 (.333) with two doubles, a triple and a home run. Alex Rodriguez is 2-for-2 with a home run.

On the flip side, Jacoby Ellsbury is 3-for-16 (.188), Mark Teixeira is 2-for-11 (.182) and Chris Young is 2-for-16 (.125).

Yankees starter Michael Pineda is 4-0 with a 2.97 ERA in six games this season, with three walks and 38 strikeouts. He's allowed two home runs in 39 1/3 innings.

Pineda is 2-0 with a 2.84 ERA in five starts against the Orioles, but he allowed five runs and nine hits in 6 1/3 innings on April 13 at Camden Yards, with no walks and nine strikeouts.

J.J. Hardy is 4-for-8 with two home runs against Pineda, Adam Jones is 5-for-14 with a double and home run and Alejandro De Aza is 3-for-9. Chris Davis is 1-for-8 with six strikeouts and Travis Snider is 0-for-9 with five strikeouts.

De Aza had a .314/.336/.508 slash line in 33 career games against the Yankees before yesterday, with six doubles, four triples, three home runs and 12 RBIs. He homered again yesterday and drove in two runs.

All four career home runs have come in 13 games at Yankee Stadium.

Davis has 17 career home runs against the Yankees, his second-highest total. He's hit 25 against the Blue Jays.

Delmon Young is batting .421 (8-for-19) with four RBIs and two runs scored in six games against the Yankees this season.

Manny Machado has reached base in his last 15 games, batting .370 (20-for-54) with four doubles, four home runs, nine RBIs, eight walks and 13 runs scored.
