Stowers and Norby in Orioles lineup this afternoon

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Austin Hays remains out of the Orioles lineup today with bruised ribs.

Kyle Stowers is in left field and Cedric Mullins is in center. Ryan O’Hearn is starting in right field while Anthony Santander serves as the designated hitter.

Connor Norby starts at second base.

Ramón Urías is 8-for-16 with two doubles, two home runs and five RBIs during a seven-game hitting streak, which matches his longest of the season. He’s on the bench today.

Adley Rutschman’s 10-game hitting streak ended last night. He’s catching.

Five of O’Hearn’s eight home runs have come while he’s behind in the count, and he’s slugging .521 in those situations.

Gunnar Henderson has a contact rate of 62.6 percent against right-handers on pitches outside the strike zone, but it drops to 47.4 percent against left-handers, per STATS.

Kyle Bradish makes his first start in exactly one week. He faced the Rays and allowed five runs and seven hits with three walks over 2 2/3 innings, and the Orioles decided to push him back in the rotation.

Bradish has a 7.12 ERA and 1.615 WHIP in six career starts against the Rays. He’s allowed four runs in 11 innings at Tropicana Field.

Yandy Díaz is 7-for-16 with a double and triple against Bradish. Randy Arozarena has a triple and two home runs among his four hits.

The Orioles trail the first-place Yankees by 3 ½ games. They’ve hit at least three home runs in three consecutive games for the second time this season.

The bullpen has allowed only two earned runs in the last 28 2/3 innings in the last nine games.

The Rays are starting four right-handers in the series, including Taj Bradley, who took a beating last Saturday at Camden Yards. He allowed nine runs and nine hits in 3 1/3 innings and surrendered two home runs to Ryan Mountcastle and one each to Santander and Jordan Westburg.

That trio homered last night in a 6-3 win.

Bradley walked six batters in 23 innings in his first four starts and walked three Orioles last weekend.

Bradley has made three career starts against the Orioles and posted an 8.16 ERA and 1.465 WHIP in 14 1/3 innings. Henderson is 4-for-9 with a home run against Bradley.
