Stunning win: O's score two in last of ninth to beat Yankees 3-2

Comeback win. Walk-off win. Against the New York Yankees in front of a huge crowd on Sunday Night Baseball. Kelly Johnson's RBI double to right center capped an Orioles two-run rally in the bottom of the ninth as they stunned the Yankees 3-2 in front of 43,947 at Camden Yards. nelson-cruz-sidebar-under-lights-white.jpgNelson Cruz led off the ninth off against Yankees closer David Robertson and doubled to left. Steve Pearce followed with an RBI double to tie the game at 2-2. One out later, Johnson's cluch hit ended it. Robertson had been 36 for 39 in save chances. The Orioles improved to 89-60 and reduced their magic number to win the American League East to three. In the top of the ninth, Brian McCann's solo homer to right had given the Yankees a 2-1 lead. He connected for No. 20 off Darren O'Day. Chris Tillman had yet another strong start for the Orioles. He went 6 2/3 innings allowing five hits and one run with one walk and six strikeouts. Tillman threw 112 pitches and lowered his ERA to 3.29. This was his 19th consecutive start allowing three earned runs or less. In that stretch he has an ERA of 2.19 and allowed two or fewer earned runs 14 times with 15 quality starts. Tillman's 19-start streak ties Milt Pappas for third longest in club history. Pappas recorded 19 straight from April 14-July 21, 1965. Dave McNally, with 25 straight in 1968, holds the team record. The Yankees took a 1-0 lead on Tillman and the O's when Martin Prado homered to left in the second inning on a 1-2 pitch. The game stayed 1-0 until the Orioles tied it in the sixth against Hiroki Kuroda. Alejandro De Aza singled with one out and scored on an Adam Jones double to left. Jones has 86 RBIs. Kuroda gave up one run over seven innings and has an ERA of 1.89 in his last five starts against the Orioles. The Orioles homestand continues Monday night against Toronto when Wei-Yin Chen (15-4, 3.59 ERA) faces right-hander Marcus Stroman (10-5, 3.61 ERA).
