The Orioles put on a power display with three homers in the last of the fourth today vs 2008 AL Cy Young winner Cliff Lee and have a 7-2 lead on Lee after four innings. Here is the amazing stat. Lee has now given up 13 homers all year and seven have come off the bat of an Oriole. Lee in 2010: *7 homers allowed in 20 1/3 innings vs. the Orioles. *6 homers allowed in 152 2/3 innings vs. everyone else. Josh Bell, who was just 3 for 16 over his previous five games, put on his own one-man power display, hitting a two-run homer off Lee in the 3rd and a three-run shot in the 4th. It's his first two career Major League homers. Ty Wigginton's blast carried 442 feet and Luke Scott hit one out 422 feet. The only time this year where Lee even gave up more than two homers in a game was when the O's got three off him on July 10th in his first Rangers start. In 15 of his 21 starts this year, he did not allow a single homer. Lee had allowed just one homer over his past seven starts since that game vs. the Orioles. Until today. The O's today hit four off him in the third and fourth innings in a span of just 10 at bats. Now that's amazing. P.S. - Bell had 13 homers in 81 games this year at Norfolk. Twice he had two homer games, on April 26 and on June 29, both vs. Charlotte.
