Trey Mancini in Baltimore (O'Day back, Pearce to 60-day DL)

The Orioles have brought first baseman Trey Mancini to Camden Yards.

Mancini, 24, has a locker set up in the clubhouse and a No. 67 uniform jersey hanging in it. No word yet from the Orioles on the transaction.

Mancini-First-Orange-Sidebar.jpgMancini, the organization's minor league Player of the Year in 2015, batted .280/.349/.427 with 22 doubles, five triples, 13 home runs and 54 RBIs this season in 125 games at Triple-A Norfolk. He's been working out in Sarasota.

This would be Mancini's major league debut if he plays.

The Orioles talked about bringing up another outfielder, but they may have decided simply to add another bat. Chris Davis can play the outfield while Mancini goes to first base.

Mancini isn't on the 40-man roster, but he needed to be protected this winter in the Rule 5 draft.

Still no lineup posted today. We're waiting to find out whether Mark Trumbo is in it and whether reliever Darren O'Day has been activated from the disabled list.

The Orioles' record of 24-17 (.585) in day games this season leads the American League and ranks fifth in the majors. Their .276 average ranks second in the AL and third in the majors.

Here are the listed starters for the Red Sox series at Camden Yards. The Wednesday starter will be Ubaldo Jimenez or Yovani Gallardo:

Monday: Dylan Bundy vs. Rick Porcello
Tuesday: Kevin Gausman vs. Eduardo Rodriguez
Wednesday: TBD vs. Clay Buchholz
Thursday: Chris Tillman vs. David Price

Update: The Orioles have selected Mancini's contract from Norfolk and reinstated O'Day from the disabled list. Infielder/outfielder Steve Pearce has been placed on the 60-day disabled list with a right flexor mass strain.
