Tyler Wilson will start Game 1 of doubleheader

Tyler Wilson is headed to Baltimore and will start Game 1 of Thursday's doubleheader against the White Sox at Camden Yards.

Wilson gave up one run and five hits in two innings in his major league debut. He's 2-4 with a 3.29 ERA in eight starts with Triple-A Norfolk.

Matt Wieters is back at Camden Yards after catching last night at Double-A Bowie. He won't serve as the Baysox's designated hitter tonight. Wieters will catch again on Thursday.

In case you missed the update, the Orioles designated outfielder Alejandro De Aza for assignment to make room for infielder Ryan Flaherty on the 25-man roster. The Orioles will attempt to trade him.

De Aza was batting .214/.277/.359 with three home runs and seven RBIs in 30 games. He batted leadoff on opening day.

The Orioles held onto infielder Everth Cabrera while making sure that shortstop J.J. Hardy doesn't experience more back tightness. The other left-handed hitting outfielders, Travis Snider and David Lough, are under team control next season. De Aza is a pending free agent.

De Aza was the only Orioles player who went to an arbitration hearing over the winter. He lost his case and settled for $5 million.

Second baseman Jonathan Schoop has received about 10 at-bats in simulated games in Sarasota while recovering from a knee injury.
