Ubaldo Jimenez pitches eight scoreless innings as O's top Tribe in Game 1

Ubaldo Jimenez delivered a very strong outing against his former team. Manny Machado and Jimmy Paredes continued their hot hitting. It added up to a 4-0 win for the Orioles over Cleveland in the opener of the day-night doubleheader as a sellout crowd of 45,675 looked on at Camden Yards.

The game was the Orioles' 5,000th regular season win since moving to Baltimore in 1954.

Jimenez gave up just four singles over eight innings as he improved to 7-3 with an ERA of 3.09. He did not walk a batter and struck out seven, throwing 109 pitches, 74 for strikes. The Indians only got one runner to second base against him, and the Orioles are 9-6 in his 15 starts. This was the Orioles' fifth shutout.
