Updating Yovani Gallardo's physical (with photos and video)

SARASOTA, Fla. - Yovani Gallardo hasn't completed his physical and couldn't take the field for today's workout at the Ed Smith Stadium complex.

A team official said there's "more work to do," including diagnostic testing.

Gallardo flew into Sarasota yesterday and started the physical. The team hoped to have it done this afternoon and wanted to set up his locker.

The Orioles were confident in Gallardo's health history as they negotiated the deal. The sides reached agreement over the weekend.

The first full-squad workout will be held on Wednesday. Chris Davis took the field this morning and participated in drills.
