Wieters homers again in 7-4 loss

Orioles catcher Matt Wieters hit his third home run in the last four games tonight to add a little drama to the bottom of the ninth inning. Just not enough of it. Wieters accounted for the last of the scoring in the Orioles' 7-4 loss to the Rays at Camden Yards. Wieters has homered in four of his last seven games, giving him 19 this season. It's the seventh time in his career that he's homered in consecutive games. Rays veteran reliever Jamey Wright walked Nick Markakis to begin the inning, served up the home run, walked J.J. Hardy and headed for the dugout. Closer Fernando Rodney took over and retired the next three batters. Wieters now has 15 career home runs against the Rays, who will go for the sweep Wednesday night. Jose Bautista ranks first with 19 homers versus Tampa Bay since the start of the 2009 season. Wieters, Robinson Cano and Adam Lind are next with 15. Wieters' 50 RBIs are the most against the Rays since 2009. Cano is next with 49. The Orioles were outhit 15-5. They're now 56-24 when scoring four runs or more.
