Wright vs. Happ today in Toronto

Though Brad Brach served up a walk-off home run last night to Edwin Encarnacion, the Orioles bullpen continues to lead the majors with a 2.62 ERA and has registered 183 strikeouts in 199 1/3 innings. The club's relievers rank only 14th in the majors in innings pitched.

Mike Wright gave the Orioles seven innings in his last start against Kansas City, allowing an unearned run and lowering his ERA from 5.88 to 5.14. He's facing a tremendous challenge this afternoon.

Wright is 0-3 with a 7.11 ERA in four career games (three starts) against the Blue Jays, with 10 runs and 18 hits allowed in 12 2/3 innings. He's walked 10 and struck out nine.

In two starts at Rogers Centre, Wright has gone 0-2 with an 11.81 ERA by allowing seven runs and 10 hits over 5 1/3 innings. He's walked five and struck out five.

The Jays are batting .349 (15-for-43) against him. Jose Bautista is 3-for-6 with a double and home run against Wright, but he's out of the lineup again today with a sore quad. Justin Smoak is 3-for-6 with two doubles and Ryan Goins is 3-for-5 with a double.

Left-hander J.A. Happ is 6-3 with a 3.57 ERA in 12 starts this season. Left-handed hitters are batting .200 against him and right-handers are batting .247.

Happ is 2-3 with a 3.56 ERA in nine career games (eight starts) versus the Orioles.

Pedro Alvarez is 3-for-7 with a double, but he's out of the lineup. Matt Wieters is 1-for-5 with a home run, but he's also sitting today. Day game after a night game.

Adam Jones is 7-for-25 with a double and home run and Jonathan Schoop is 2-for-10 with five strikeouts.

Chris Davis has homered in three straight games. He's hit 15 home runs in 149 at-bats at Rogers Centre, one for every 9.93 at-bats, the best ratio for any of the 345 players with 100 or more at-bats at the ballpark.

Davis' 15 home runs are the most for any opposing hitter at Rogers Centre since 2012.
