Battle of the Beltways

Lots of fun planned for this weekend as our Baltimore friends/foes come to NatsTown. To kick things off, Matt Capps, Adam Dunn and Josh Willingham will join coaches and broadcasters for an annual visit to the Military Advanced Training Center (MATC) at Walter Reed Army Medical Center this afternoon. They will sign autographs, take pictures and invite the soldiers to Friday night's game against the Orioles. Also, Screech and the Oriole Bird will compete in a number of challenges at ESPN Zone on Friday afternoon. Stop by at 4:00 p.m. to see which bird prevails. Don't forget to bring food donations to the park throughout the weekend for the team's fifth annual Food Drive benefiting the Capital Area Food Bank. Fans may donate non-perishable food items from the time gates open through the fourth inning on both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, the first 20,000 fans will receive a Nationals cap. Sunday is also the 2nd Annual Bike to the Park Day. As part of the national Bike to Work campaign, the team is encouraging fans to bike to Nationals Park on Sunday. There is a free bike valet in parking garage C and 250 bike racks around the ballpark. As always, Sunday is family fun day. The first 10,000 kids will receive a promotional T-shirt. All weekend, MASN will combine talent for the network's unique three-man booth featuring Hall of Famer Jim Palmer, two time All Star Rob Dibble and veteran broadcasters Jim Hunter and Bob Carpenter. It's always a treat to hear Palmer dissect Nationals pitching, so be sure to tune in! Take note that Metrorail will be conducting weekend track maintenance on the Green, Orange and Red Lines and fans are encouraged to allow extra travel time all weekend.
