Nationals reinstate right-hander Dan Haren from DL, option 1B/OF Tyler Moore to Syracuse

The Washington Nationals today reinstated right-handed pitcher Dan Haren from the 15-Day Disabled List and optioned first baseman/outfielder Tyler Moore to Syracuse of the Triple-A International League. Nationals Executive Vice President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcement. Haren, who missed the last 14 games with right shoulder inflammation, is slated to start tonight's series opener in Philadelphia. Haren is 4-9 with a 6.15 ERA in 15 starts this season with Washington. The 32-year-old three-time All-Star is 123-106 with a 3.76 ERA in 311 games/301 starts during his career. Haren's 4.05 strikeout-to-walk ratio for his career ranks third in MLB history, and he leads all active pitchers with just 1.87 walks per 9.0 innings during his 11 major league seasons. Moore, 26, is batting .151 with five doubles, three home runs, 14 RBI, six walks and eight runs scored in 42 games with Washington this season.
