When the Nationals came to D.C. from Montreal for the 2015 season, they created a lot of buzz in the nation's capital. One of the interesting offshoots of their arrival was the plethora of fan blogs that were quickly established. These folks were the ones who created the Natosphere, the wonderful Internet gathering place for new Nats fans and baseball-starved denizens of the District and the surrounding area.
Well, we noticed. And in 2011, MASNsports.com started offering daily in-season dispatches from some of the most-read fan bloggers around. We offered them an opportunity to share their opinions and viewpoints, a way to increase the traffic on their own pages and a bigger stage with more readers who could look at the fruits of their Nats-centric labors.
To say the guest blogger initiative has been a success would be an understatement. And we're happy to announce our starting five for 2015, those bloggers whose work you'll be reading on our pages starting on Monday, April 6, the same day the Nats entertain the Mets in the season opener.
Marty Niland of D.C. Baseball History will lead off, and he'll be followed by 10-year-old Matt of Matt's Bats on Tuesdays, Rachel Levitin of District Sports Page on Wednesdays, David Huzzard of Citizens of Natstown on Thursdays and Patrick Reddington of Federal Baseball on Fridays.
We hope you'll give them a read and visit their pages to see their unique ways of covering the Nationals throughout the season.
It's almost time for baseball, and our guest bloggers are just as eager for opening day as you are!
