Error opens the door for Sox to top O's

The throw from shortstop just glanced off Ty Wigginton's glove for a two-base error on the first baseman. Brad Bergesen, rolling along with a shutout to that point, would soon see this game unravel on him. There would have been two outs and none on in the last of the 5th if Wigginton held that ball. Instead, the White Sox would follow with six straight hits, score four runs, and go on to a 4-3 win over the Orioles on Saturday afternoon. Three pitches after the error, Jermaine Dye hit a two-run homer for a 2-1 Chicago lead. Two more runs would come across. The inning would have been worse for Bergesen but both Nolan Reimold and Nick Markakis threw runners out at the plate. The Orioles scored twice in the 9th off Bobby Jenks to pull within one run. Nolan Reimold's RBI single produced his second RBI of the game and Brian Roberts would score Reimold with a single. But Jenks got Nick Markakis to ground out to end the game. Bergesen falls to 6-4, 3.51. He allowed ten hits and four runs (two earned) in six frames. Winning pitcher Mark Buehrle is now 10-3, 3.52. Over 7 1/3 innings he gave up eight hits and one run. Buehrle is 14-1, 2.47 in his last 20 home starts. The Orioles fall to 14-29 on the road. Chicago has won 14 of 20 and 19 of its last 28 games. Balt.....3-12-1 CWS....4-11-0
