The workout hasn't started and I'm not sure whether manager Buck Showalter will share his opening day lineup, but here's the Twins lineup that will oppose right-hander Jake Arrieta:
Denard Span CF
Jamey Carroll SS
Joe Mauer C
Justin Morneau DH
Josh Willingham LF
Ryan Doumit RF
Danny Valencia 3B
Chris Parmelee 1B
Alexi Casilla 2B
Carl Pavano RHP
So who starts in left field for the Orioles? Endy Chavez is 4-for-18 lifetime against Pavano. Reimold is 1-for-6.
Wilson Betemit is 5-for-15.
Triple-A Norfolk released its roster, which is subject to change. Dana Eveland has accepted an outright assignment, so the Tides will have to make room for him. And where's Zach Phillips?
Eveland was designated for assignment on March 29 when the Orioles claimed infielder Zelous Wheeler off waivers from the Brewers. Phillips was optioned yesterday.
Anyway, here's the current Norfolk roster:
Update: Phillips was accidentally omitted in the original version. He's on the club.
Starters: Brad Bergesen, Chris Tillman, Armando Galarraga, Steve Johnson and Jason Berken.
Relievers: Willie Eyre, Chris George, Jon Link, Pat Neshek, Zach Phillips, Miguel Socolovich, Oscar Villarreal and Dontrelle Willis.
Catchers: John Hester and Chris Robinson.
Infielders: Ryan Adams, Matt Antonelli, Josh Bell, Joe Mahoney, Steve Tolleson and Zelous Wheeler.
Outfielders: Xavier Avery, Scott Beerer, Jamie Hoffmann and Jai Miller.
Pitcher Brandon Erbe will begin the season on Norfolk's disabled list.
Major League Baseball announced that 243 players on opening day rosters were born outside the U.S., the third-highest total in history. That's 28.4 percent spanning 15 countries and territories.
The Camden Yards concessions will now include Ripken Power Shred, the best beef jerky I've tasted. And you can get all three flavors: original, sweet-n-spicy and teriyaki.
Here's one for soccer fans: The Tottenham Hotspur Football Club will play Liverpool Football Club in an all-Premier League soccer match on Saturday, July 28 at 1:00 p.m. at M&T Bank Stadium.
The match-up features two of the most popular teams in the Barclays Premier League, widely regarded as the most competitive and elite soccer league in the world.
