Harper and Zimmerman are healthy and on a roll

In Tuesday's 3-1 Nationals win over the Braves, hitting stars Bryce Harper and Ryan Zimmerman delivered again.

Harper went 2-for-3 with a walk, two doubles and run scored. Zimmerman went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Bryce Harper gray at bat.jpg No coincidence that both battled through injury issues last season and didn't have up-to-par outcomes. Zimmerman had a wrist injury. Harper's issues were not acknowledged, but some felt he had a shoulder problem he had to battle through.

But this season, they have both started off hot.

Harper is now hitting .354 and his OPS is another worldly 1.163. Zimmerman is not hitting .356 and also a ridiculous OPS of 1.075.

"I'm not even thinking about it. Just trying to go up there, I've said it the whole time, trying to stay healthy and play as many games as I can," Harper said on Sunday about getting into a nice groove. "Get in the lineup every single day that I can and try to help this team win. We want to be the best we can every single day as a club, and that's what we're going to come in and do every single day. Work hard and try and play and play our butts off and hopefully be where we want to be at the end of the year."

* Double-A Harrisburg Senators center fielder Andrew Stevenson has 10 hits in his last two games. You read that correctly. He has gone 10-for-12 with five RBIs and six runs. He is hitting .447 for the young season. He has had more than one hit seven of his last eight games. The LSU product was a second-round selection in 2015. Stevenson could be a one-to-watch candidate for a spot in the Nationals outfield in the future.
