The Orioles today announced that they have agreed to terms with right-hander Miguel Gonzalez on a one-year contract, thus avoiding arbitration.
Gonzalez, 30, was 10-9 with a 3.23 ERA (159.0IP, 57ER) in 27 games (26 starts) in 2014, the lowest ERA of his three-year career. He surrendered three earned runs or fewer in 23 of his 26 starts and went 5-2 with a 2.78 ERA (71.1IP, 22ER) in 12 starts against the AL East.
The Orioles now have two arbitration eligible players: left-hande Zach Britton and outfielder Alejandro De Aza.
