Orioles score nine late runs to beat the White Sox

Who saw that coming? Maybe after watching the Orioles come up with some late offense on Friday and Saturday in Toronto led many fans to not give up on tonight's game. Those that stayed with it were rewarded. The Orioles scored nine unanswered runs in the last three innings tonight to beat Chicago 10-4 in ten innings. In the top of the eighth, Matt Wieters hit a solo homer to bring the Orioles within 4-2. Then they got a pair of solo homers to tie the game off White sox closer Hector Santiago in the ninth. Nolan Reimold led off the inning with a blast to left and with two outs and none on, Adam Jones hit a game-tying homer. The Orioles were down to their last out when Jones went deep. It was his fourth of the year. The Orioles came up with six runs in the 10th which featured a Chris Davis RBI double, a Reimold RBI single and a Wieters grand slam. Wieters tied career highs with two homers and five RBIs. The Orioles were just 1-for-9 tonight with runners in scoring position through nine innings, but they then went 5-for-7 in the tenth with RISP. The Orioles hit four homers tonight, all coming in the last three innings. They have now hit 11 over their last four games and have 18 on the year. For the third time in the last four days the Orioles pulled out the game with some late offense to improve to 6-4 on the year.
