Quick pregame hits

PItcher Alfredo Simon threw today in Sarasota without any hamstring issues and is scheduled to throw one or two innings Sunday at Double-A Bowie. He's eligible to come off the disabled list on Tuesday. Jake Arrieta will throw a light bullpen session today. Arrieta says his right elbow feels better and he remains scheduled to start Wedneday night against the Cardinals at Camden Yards. Manager Buck Showalter told reporters that second baseman Brian Roberts is having wisdom teeth removed. He didn't say how many. Showalter said it was important to give Blake Davis another start after the rookie committed a costly two-run error Wednesday in Pittsburgh. "The young man's done a lot to get this opportunity," Showalter said. "I don't want that (error) to sit with him for too long." Third baseman Mark Reynolds is batting .524 (11-for-21) in his last seven games. He has hits in 12 of his last 14 games, going 18-for-43 (.419) with four doubles, four homers and eight RBIs. He's also walked 11 times in the last 14 games. Chris Jakubaukas' ERA is 1.74 in the first three innings and 7.13 after the third. The Orioles have agreed to terms with nine draft picks: Mike Wright (third round), Matt Taylor (fifth), Trent Howard (seventh), Devin Jones (ninth), Adam Davis (11th), Dustin Ward (19th), Cameron Edmund (29th), Zachary Fowler (34th) and Jerome Pena (38th). Jones took his physical today and stopped by the clubhouse.
