Reimold homers again, Machado on roll (Patton injured)

Nolan Reimold homered in the fourth inning tonight in Triple-A Norfolk's game against the Gwinnett Braves. His solo shot increased the Tides' lead to 2-0. Reimold is batting .286 with two homers and two RBIs in five games. He batted .315 with three doubles, three homers, 10 RBIs and a .985 OPS in 24 spring training games. Josh Bell is 2-for-2 with a double and run scored tonight, raising his average to .333. Troy Patton shut out the Braves on one hit over three innings. He struck out four. Patton, who took Brad Bergesen's turn in the rotation, was removed after facing one batter in the fourth. He threw 38 pitches, 28 for strikes. Update: Patton left the game with a wrist injury. I don't have any other details. He was charged with one run when Mark Hendrickson let an inherited runner score. Hendrickson has been charged with five runs of his own in three innings. Brandon Waring, starting at first base, homered tonight for Double-A Bowie. Tim Bascom allowed four runs and nine hits, with no walks and six strikeouts, in five innings against the Richmond Flying Squirrels. Shortstop Manny Machado is 2-for-2 tonight for Single-A Delmarva, leaving his average at .462. I don't know how long the South Atlantic League can hold him.
