Reimold still homer happy, Hardy joins him (O's win 3-2)

CHICAGO - Nolan Reimold decided not to wait until the ninth inning to hit a home run tonight. Reimiold broke a scoreless tie in the sixth by following a Robert Andino single with a two-run shot to left field off White Sox starter John Danks, his fourth homer in five days and his fourth in his last four games played. Got all that? Reimold didn't play Sunday in Toronto because of cramping in his left leg - now known as Hammygate by reporters who share a strange sense of humor. Luke Scott was the last Oriole to homer in four straight games played, on May 27-30, 2009. J.J. Hardy stepped to the plate and launched his third homer, increasing the Orioles' lead to 3-0. The Orioles' last back-to-back home runs came from Andino and Reimold on Sept. 19, 2011. The Orioles lead the majors with 20 homers. Nick Markakis needs to join the party. He's 0-for-3 tonight and is in a 3-for-34 slump that's lowered his average to .195. Update: For the second time in two starts, Chen was cruising along until hitting a wall in the sixth. He allowed two runs and six hits in 5 1/3 innings, with two walks, four strikeouts and one wild pitch. He threw 99 pitches, 64 for strikes. Darren O'Day replaced him with runners on the corners and held the lead. He got a pop up and threw to second to catch Alex Rios breaking too early. Update II: Nice job by the Orioles' bullpen tonight. O'Day allowed a hit and struck out two in 1 2/3 innings, Troy Patton retired Adam Dunn and Luis Ayala retired the next two batters to complete the eighth. Jim Johnson will go for the save in the ninth. Adam Jones is 0-for-4. Unless we go into extra innings and he gets another at-bat, his hitting streak will end at 13 games, which was the longest in the majors. Update III: The White Sox loaded the bases against Jim Johnson on two walks and J.J. Hardy's error, but Brent Morel bounced to third. The Orioles win, 3-2. They're 4-1 on this road trip so far.
