Sisco and Ramirez joining Orioles

The Orioles are recalling catcher Chance Sisco from Triple-A Norfolk after a brief demotion. He's replacing another rookie, Austin Wynns, who was optioned after last night's game.

Yefry Ramirez also is in the clubhouse and will be added to the bullpen. The moves haven't been announced.

Sisco-Bunts-White-Sidebar.jpgSisco, 23, is batting .218/.340/.328 in 47 games. He threw out nine of the first 18 runners trying to steal against him, but has been successful on only one of his last 18 attempts.

Sent down to Norfolk on June 17, Sisco went 6-for-17 with one home run in five games. He was unsuccessful on all 10 stolen base attempts against him.

Wynns made one start since the Orioles recalled Caleb Joseph and he'll get more regular at-bats with the Tides, who also have Andrew Susac on the roster.

Ramirez made his major league debut on June 13 versus the Red Sox and allowed three runs and four hits with six strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings. He wasn't a candidate to start today, the assignment given to Jimmy Yacabonis, because he'd be working on three days' rest.

Ramirez is 3-5 with a 3.88 ERA and 1.167 WHIP in 14 starts with Norfolk.

Left-hander Donnie Hart's spot in the bullpen again is in jeopardy with the Orioles needing to create room for Ramirez. Hart pitched last night, and if the club is looking ahead, it won't need three left-handers in the bullpen for the weekend series against the Angels.
