Some O's stats and facts before the KC series finale

Most of these are far from positive or encouraging, but here are some numbers to ponder as we await the series finale of the Orioles-Royals series this afternoon. It's Juan Samuel's final game as interim manager and he should get some props for handling everything over the last few weeks with some class and dignity. Let's see today if the O's can get a win for him and if they can get a lead and hold it this time. *The Orioles had more wins in one series at Texas before the All-Star break than they have now in 16 games since the break. The O's went 4-0 in that series in Texas, but are just 3-13 since the All-Star game after Saturday's loss at KC. *The Orioles now have 32 wins on the year and 17 blown saves. *The Orioles are just 1-5 on this road trip that ends today with a team average of .233 and 21 runs scored on the trip and a team ERA of 6.27 over the six-game stretch. *The Orioles have won just four series all year with a series record of 4-27-2. They are 12-21 this year in the final game of a series. *Cesar Izturis needs five hits for 1,000 in his career. He had 786 hits in the NL and has 209 in the AL.
