Another night and another frustrating loss for the Orioles.
Tigers outfielder Clete Thomas hit a solo homer to center with two outs in the last of the ninth off Danys Baez to give Detroit a 6-5, walk-off win over the Birds to start this four-game series.
The O's and rookie Chris Tillman could not hold a 5-0 lead they gained in the top of the first inning.

For the second straight start, Tillman did not get a decision. He allowed seven hits and five runs over six innings. He walked three and struck out five. He threw 100 pitches, 59 strikes.
His ERA is 6.75 through two starts, covering 10 2/3 innings.
The O's got off to a stunning start, scoring five runs on six hits in the top of the first vs. 12-game winner Justin Verlander.
Brian Roberts led off the game with a solo homer. Later Aubrey Huff had an RBI groundout and Ty Wigginton an RBI double. Luke Scott's two-run double made it a 5-0 lead.
But Detroit struck back with a three-run first vs. Tillman which featured a Miguel Cabrera two-run double. Single runs in the 4th and 5th tied it and set the stage for Thomas' game-winner in the 9th.
After their big first frame, the O's did not score the rest of the night and they had just one hit over the last six innings.
The O's have lost four in a row and are 4-13 since the All-Star break.
