What was your favorite memory of the 2012 season?

Does it feel to you like the Orioles haven't played in a month? Yet it was only a week ago last night that the Orioles were playing Game 5 against the Yankees. Since the 2012 season is still so fresh in our minds, I'll pose a question today that is an obvious one to ask. As Buck Showalter would say, I'll be Captain Obvious here. What was your favorite memory or game from this Orioles' season? Just off the top of my head, a few come to mind. The Orioles; 9-6 win in 17 innings on May 6 at Boston with Adam Jones' game winning homer off Darnell McDonald and Chris Davis' pitching performance. How could you forget that split-finger pitch that struck out Adrian Gonzalez? The Orioles showed us a resolve that day that we would see often this year. The O's win over the Yankees on Sept. 6 might even top that Boston win. A sold out Camden Yards rocked like I hadn't heard it for years. With a chance to tie for first place, the Orioles took a 6-1 lead, then allowed five in the eighth and suddenly it was tied. Seconds later though, Jones homered to lead off the bottom of the inning. Mark Reynolds and Davis quickly followed with homers in a stunning power display that ended in a 10-6 win and the O's pulling into a tie for first place. Camden Yards rocked big time in those two home playoff games against the Yankees but I'll put the crowd on Sept. 6 up against any we saw (and heard) this year. By the way, how cool was it to see the ballpark full and rocking again like that? For years I've been saying the support for the Orioles was strong when others doubted it. The fans just needed something to cheer for. They got it this year and proved that they never really went away. At the end of the season, that "Glad You Came" video that played on the video board at the ballpark was so well done and we could see the players' appreciation for the fans. The fans returned the favor in that amazing scene at Camden Yards early last Saturday morning when the club returned home after losing in New York. Maybe the best sight from this season was seeing the players getting to celebrate in Texas after winning the wild card game. There was the celebration that never happened that day at Camden Yards when the Angels rallied to win and the O's clinching a playoff berth would have to wait. But that night in Texas, the players let loose and it was great to see. They deserved to have a celebration like that. So thinking back on all the amazing games and things we saw this year, what was your favorite and/or lasting memory from the 2012 season? The scoop on Schoop: As I reported via Twitter last night, Orioles infield prospect Jonathan Schoop left his Arizona Fall League game Friday in the fifth inning after being hit by a pitch above his left elbow an inning earlier. An O's club official indicated that there was no sign of a fracture and that Schoop would be re-evaluated today. In eight games so far for the Mesa Solar Sox, Schoop is 7-for-21 with two doubles, a homer, four RBIs, a .571 slugging percentage and an OPS of 1.053. He has made starts at second, third and shortstop. Schoop, who turned 21 on Tuesday, was the winner of the Brooks Robinson Award which goes to the Orioles minor league Player of the Year after the 2011 season. Baseball America recently named him the 14th best prospect in the Double-A Eastern League after a season where he hit .245 with 24 doubles, 14 homers and 56 RBIs for the Bowie Baysox.
