Williams: Harper's hamstring still "sore"

Nationals manager Matt Williams said outfielder Bryce Harper is still "sore" after suffering a mild strain of his left hamstring in slippery conditions at Nats Park during a 5-3 loss to the Rays on Thursday night.

"He's sore," Williams said. "Hasn't done a whole lot today. He's getting treatment. I'm sure at some point he'll get a few swings in and light (stretching). He's off for today. We'll re-evaluate after the game today after he does all of his treatment and everything and see what we have for tomorrow. Today he's not in the lineup."

"We want to be cautious and make sure that we 're taking the appropriate steps," Williams said. "But for today, we're going to see how he feels. And then if we have to get further tests, then we will do so."

Right fielder Clint Robinson will bat in the cleanup spot tonight versus the Pirates. Robinson said he doesn't expect to just replace Harper and his power numbers.

"I'm not Bryce Harper," Robinson said. "Nobody is. For anybody to expect me to go out there and do what he does is kind of lofty goals. I'm just going to go out there and do the same thing I always do, whether I'm in four-hole or the nine-hole. I'm going to go out there and put together good at-bats and play good defense. That's really all I can concentrate on."
