Bundy with six up and out so far at Delmarva

SALISBURY, Md. - Right-hander Dylan Bundy has retired the first six batters tonight here at Perdue Stadium with three strikeouts. He threw 15 pitches in the first inning and 11 more in the second against the Greenville Drive. Bundy threw 10 of 15 pitches for strikes during an opening inning where his fastball ranged from 96 to 98 mph. In that inning he faced two of the Red Sox top seven prospects according to Baseball America with catcher Blake Swihart, the No. 3 prospect, batting second and No. 7 prospect Garin Cecchini batting third. Swihart grounded out on a 97 mph fastball and Cecchini was called out on strikes on a curveball at 76 mph. In the second, Bundy got a pop out to third, a strikeout and a line out to left field. He mixed in more changeups during that inning. Greenville came into tonight's game with a .243 team batting average and averaging 4.4 runs per game during a 7-10 start. Through 11 career innings now, Bundy has yet to allow a run or hit and South Atlantic League batters are now 0-for-33 with 18 strikeouts against him. The game is scoreless after an inning and a half.
