Orioles name Tyler Wilson as Thursday's starter

BOSTON - The Orioles no longer are listing Thursday night's starter as TBD.

Tyler Wilson will take the mound for the series finale against the Red Sox at Fenway Park. The club made the announcement on Twitter.

Manager Buck Showalter chose Wilson over Mike Wright, who started Saturday and would have been working on regular rest. Wilson pitched Thursday night in Toronto and will be working on six days' rest.

Wilson is 2-5 with a 4.73 ERA in 12 games (nine starts). He's had a rough stretch this month, allowing 10 runs and 14 hits in 9 2/3 innings over two starts.

Former Orioles minor league left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez is starting Thursday for the Red Sox.

Wilson already has faced the Red Sox twice this season. He tossed three scoreless innings in relief on April 13 at Fenway Park - his only appearance in Boston - and allowed three runs and eight hits over 6 2/3 innings in a 7-2 loss on May 30 at Camden Yards.

Yovani Gallardo is the only confirmed starter for the Blue Jays series at Camden Yards. He's coming off the disabled list and pitching Saturday afternoon.

Chris Tillman's next turn falls on Sunday. Wright could start Friday if he remains in the rotation.
