Wilson vs. Rodriguez tonight at Fenway Park

BOSTON - Chris Tillman was the stopper on Tuesday, enabling the Orioles to end a three-game losing streak.

Can Tyler Wilson give his best impression tonight?

The Orioles have lost three of their last four games and are tied again with the Red Sox for first place in the American League East. The rotation's 4.89 ERA ranks 26th in the majors.

Wilson is due for a good outing and the Orioles certainly could use one. He registered four quality starts in five outings last month, but he's allowed 10 runs and 14 hits over 9 2/3 innings in his last two starts.

This is Wilson's second appearance at Fenway Park and his first start. He tossed three scoreless innings in relief on April 13.

Xander Bogaerts is 3-for-4 with two doubles against Wilson. Mookie Betts is 2-for-5 and Jackie Bradley, Jr. is 1-for-4 with a home run.

The Orioles get another look tonight at left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez, who made it to Double-A Bowie before they traded him in July 2014 for reliever Andrew Miller. Rodriguez was 3-7 with a 4.79 ERA in 16 starts with the Baysox before being dealt. Miller's now in the Yankees' bullpen.

I'll continue to defend the trade because Miller would have gone to the Tigers if executive vice president Dan Duquette didn't finally agree to part with Rodriguez. The Orioles were going for it, as contenders are supposed to do.

Rodriguez is making his fourth start this year since coming off the disabled list. He's allowed 11 runs and 16 hits in 16 1/3 innings, with seven walks and seven strikeouts. He's also served up five home runs, four of them against the Blue Jays over 5 2/3 innings.

In his last two starts, Rodriguez has surrendered nine runs and 10 hits and walked seven batters in 10 1/3 innings. The struggles came after his 2016 debut against the Orioles on May 31, when he held them to two runs over six innings.

Rodriguez is 1-2 with a 3.86 ERA in four career starts against the Orioles. Chris Davis is 1-for-11 with five strikeouts, Matt Wieters is 2-for-8 with a home run, Nolan Reimold is 3-for-10 with a double and Manny Machado is 2-for-10 with a double.
